4 weeks ago, I could barely walk, let alone run after injuring my achilles. So I have only just started running again and have done 2 very slow jogs and on Tuesday managed a short but reasonably brisk “proper” run again. My Achilles is still a bit sore but strangely, if anything, the runs have helped rather than worsened the soreness.
I now need to up the distances over the next 3 weeks and lose a bit of weight gained on holiday! I did think about pulling out but it is such a good cause and it sounds like a fun day, well, apart from standing around in the autumnal cold, risking pulled muscles etc.! It does sound like a great camaraderie exists from those who did this event last year. Roll on the glorious 12th!
